The Difference Between VT and PT

In the power system, VT (Voltage Transformer) and PT (Potential Transformer) are essentially the same type of equipment, both belonging to voltage transformers. Their core function is to proportionally convert high voltage into low voltage for use in secondary equipment such as energy metering, relay protection, and monitoring.

Note: VT and CVT are two different devices. CVT (Capacitive Voltage Transformer) is a capacitive voltage transformer suitable for high-voltage and ultra high voltage lines
